In the walks lasting 4 hours you could visit the following locations according to your preferences:
- A Walk to Shipka and the Buzludzha Monument„
The Shipka and Buzludzha monuments are among the most famous and popular tourist destinations in all of Bulgaria. The walk to Shipka and the other landmarks takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes, following a scenic mountain path. About 30 minutes are allocated for visiting the historic „Shipka“ Monument to Freedom and climbing to its summit, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view. After visiting „Shipka,“ the tour proceeds to the Buzludzha Monument—the largest ideological monument of the communist regime in Bulgaria. Here, another 30 minutes are scheduled for a break, during which you can explore and get a close-up look at one of the symbols of Bulgaria’s recent socialist past.
- Ethnographic complex Etara and Bozhentsi
On this tour, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Dryanovo Monastery of St. Michael the Archangel, the Bacho Kiro Cave, the Etar Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, and the Sokolski Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
The tour begins with a visit to the Dryanovo Monastery, situated amid the picturesque gorge of the Dryanovo River, with the „Bacho Kiro“ Cave located right next to it. It is one of the jewels in Bulgaria’s cave necklace. About an hour is scheduled for this area to allow time for a walk and a visit to both attractions.
Next, we’ll head to „Etara,“ where the spirit of Bulgaria and its traditions have been preserved across time and space so that every visitor can experience them firsthand. You’ll have about an hour to explore the museum. Depending on how much time is left, you’ll also have the chance to visit the Sokolski Monastery, which offers incredible scenic views.
- Krushun Falls
Krushuna waterfalls are one of the most beautiful and charming waterfalls in Bulgaria and a preferred destination for many tourists. The trip to the waterfalls takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. A break of about 1 hour is provided at the site to walk along the nearby eco-trails revealing the charming natural beauty around the falls.
